I I finally joined the evil empire as the only way to stay in touch with the rest of my family who quit talking by other means. I've joined the Vanagon Owners group there along with another high-traffic group and I have to say the software is not well set up for that sort of thing -- either high volume or long threads. And in my experience with it so far it's vanishingly rare that someone with a problem will say specifically what vehicle. It's a very mixed experience, very time-consuming, and I find no way to skim headings to quickly find things of interest. I'm sure the data bandwidth is frightful, as is the number of screens you have to flip through. Notifications about thread replies drop you at the top of the thread, which may be twenty or thirty screens from where the reply lives. Yours, David |
