Skylights?

You likely see more sunny days than up here in PNW but natural light can be really beneficial in Winter months. Not sure if that would interfere or help with light for welding. (I'm learning more and more how crucial proper or at least flexible lighting is, for welding)

Internet connection?

I'm sure a smart phone could do same though. You could probably find a free computer for basic internet use. Easy ccess to data when working on a new to you project is nice.

30 x 24 may not require this but consider designing shop so it can be rearranged easily. A workbench on locking castors might be a bad idea but I'd consider it; there are times I have both buses in the garage and being able to move things around the work really helps.

Separate shed for bigger bulky parts.

(like those spare trailing arms you have. Right? ha ha )
