I built a big shop/garage with a 650 sf studio (with sink and Vermont Castings gas stove heater) on top for my wife about 10 years ago. The building is bigger than my house, and is insulated to code. It has 10' ceilings, 3/4 bath, laundry sink, stacked compact washer/dryer, gas water heater, double 8' garage door in front, a single 7' door in the rear going to a storage shed attached to the back, and a ceiling mounted Modine gas heater. Here in the NW you need heat, and the bath and laundry keep the grease and dirt out of the house!

It holds three cars, and I would like to add a lift, but it would have to be a moveable four poster with casters so I could use it to store a couple of MGBs. And, I could get the van up nearly three feet for easier work sitting on the floor or on a rolling stool rather than lying on my back or on my knees.

Don't forget the big screen TV!

Building the garage was part of our "downsizing" move!

Stuart

So heres the plan…

I am building a workspace for my new additions, VW #14 & #15 a early Vanagon Rivera, and an older beetle.

In building my space, I am pouring a foundation 30x24, a 10x10 garage door, side entry door and 12 foot roof.

I have a budget, and am shopping for tools, what would you put in your shop, besides a battery impact or ratchet?
