You think that could be it, Larry?

I'm too lazy to look at the diagram, Volks; but if a small light goes
out when a nearby big one lights up, it's a very good bet that the
little one has been grounding through the big, and loses its ground
when the supply terminal of the big (low resistance) lamp has 12V put on it.
