I installed the RMW WBX Exhaust on my Syncro Westy a little over a year ago. Here are some notes from my experience: It is a complete kit, including all hardware. The pipes are nice quality 16g. stainless. The cat and muffler are off-the-shelf Magnaflow/Flowmaster units. Made in USA. Installation is straight-forward and I had no issues with attachment as far as alignment. It requires omission or modification of one of the pushrod tube covers. The slip joint clamps are difficult to get leak-free, especially after disassembly. They serve double-duty as mounting points. The mounting brackets flex quite a bit. They are not stainless and will rust. The final fit commonly has the cat-exhaust-tailpipe assembly sloping downward to the right. It hangs lower than stock. Performance should theoretically be improved, but I can’t judge because I installed a bigger engine at the same time. Passed CA emissions testing easily. The sound is noticeably louder than stock, especially at idle and under heavy acceleration. The muffler is relatively small and the tone, while having more growl, is not particularly deep. At highway cruising speed, I find that the exhaust volume is mostly drowned out by wind/road noise. Hope that helps. James 86 Syncro Westy |
