I bought my 82 vanagon (partly) with money I got from a motorcycle accident I suffered with my girlfriend in Hollywood (Sunset & Lodi)

I had a sweet bike. Honda VTR996 superhawk. Twin exhaust high-mounted, corbin saddle. It was a super lane-splitting machine. Long and slender right down to the Vtwin. The narrow gauge cluster reminded me of a huey cobra. It could get through gaps in traffic like a bicycle, and then outrun a ferrari off the line.

I did so much lane splitting. it's the greatest. You can go to any part of L.A. even in the worst traffic on a friday. Up to Ventura, no problem. Lane-splitting is much less dangerous than undivided two way traffic in my opinion. Two way traffic is the killer. Left turns and U-turns cutting off bikes . Cars backing out.

I still can't believe Pacific Coast Highway through malibu is still undivided much of the way. 55mph (posted speed limit) both ways. When those cars collide, it's deadly. Such as Bruce Jenner's recent deadly mishap.

Anyway, sorry, started reminiscing about bikes.
