CL does not have an exclusive on low ballers and bottom feeders. You'll get some of the same kind of response from the samba... So many of these folks have a ton of courage when they are sitting behind their all powerful keyboards but few would dare make such ignorant statements and silly offers to your face so I tell people up front that I do not negotiate via e-mail or telephone, period. I'll answer a few relevant/polite questions via e-mail or phone but it is my experince that real and motivated buyers will be quick to make an appointment to see in person and will show up with cash and the means to get it home.

Last month I sold our complete and rust free 88 Wolfsburg Weekender to a very polite young fellow for $2500. It needed some work to be a daily driver and I of course disclosed every thing I knew about it. I was asking $3200 and was going to include $500 worth of new parts (not advertised) but when this fellow insisted he "wanted a deal" and offered me $2500, he got "a deal"!

And I still have the $500 in new parts I'll probably need for the 87 GL I bought on Monday. Everybody wins!
