For the 14" wheels the best choices are a 205/70-14 with the extra load rating. This was the factory fitment for most 87 and later vans. There are some choices still available at Tires-Easy.com. For a Syncro a skinny rib highly inflated tire is contradictive to having a Syncro in the first place.

Choices are limited in 14” truck tires, that’s why folks get bigger wheels. Nokian Hakkapeliitta’s seem popular now, but I’m sure the list has other suggestions.

Consider getting them powder coated. I've seen other wheels done this way, and they are gorgeous. Metallics are now available, and wheels can be two colors. The painted wheels I've done on my MGBs haven't held up all that well. Some info: http://www.seattlepowdercoat.com/home

I have noticed many swish new cars with black wheels. Don't know what to think really. I always thought nice shiny silver wheels with chrome rim rings and chrome caps looked pretty nice but being born during WWII in England I suppose anything shiny looked pretty good.

Plans are to sand blast all five rims paying particular attention to the seem, prime, either a silver or titanium paint and clear coat. I have already got all the bits installed under the Beastie, rebuilt transmission, all four axles and drive shaft fore and aft. All new brakes, rotors, pads and whatever was needed. All new fuel lines right from the tank, fuel pump and two fuel filters. All new fuel lines throughout engine. New engine fan, new radiator, all new engine coolant lines, the list goes on and on. Interior plans will be simple but will contain fully ice cold AC for SW Florida's weather demands. The exterior will be, at this time repainted Oxford White and does have the now very rare Projextzw four rectangular headlights and spotlights on the lower grill.

All it needs now is time and lots more dollars.

Keep smiling Peter Marsh Naples FL
