Typically, these will leak due to the gasket being uneven or overtightening (usually the latter). I have never needed sealant to stop leaking, however, I have needed to replace the pan.
Cheers,
Jeff

My (rebuilt) AT Œweeps¹ too. It was professionally done, by a reputable rebuilder. The mechanic who sent it out for the rebuild has tightened things up as best he can, and my new (local) mechanic, has also made an effort. His synopsis is - ³those automatic transmissions always leak a little bit, get in the habit of checking the level.² I am ok with doing that. It is a tiny amount (a tablespoon per week, typically, in a dot on the garage floor) and doesn¹t seem to amount to any serious expense. Of all the things I could worry about (ahem, rust, ahem), this is not a serious one for me.
