The professional glass installer at my preferred body shop uses a 10 feet piece of Cat5 cable and ammonia free glass cleaner for lubrication. Cheap and no mess or damage to aftermarket tints, paint or interiors. I found Sprayway glass cleaner from Costco works exceptionally well and the smooth CAT5 cable doesn't bind or tug on the rubber. Don't spare the lube and if begins to evaporate keep applying as needed. When you get within 18 to 24 inched of the ends you'll need to hold on to both ends of the cable as it will slip and pull through. It's that slippery! If you are doing all the windows you'll need to have extra CAT5 cable handy as it begins to form kinks from pulling it and it will break at the kinks. If in doubt, toss it and get another piece. I help a friend install a set of aluminum framed middle windows in his Westy last weekend. It was quick and easy. I wonder if any of you have ever done it or know someone who knows how to do it. Top of it, it is for a camper where the cabinet is in the way. Even with great patience it is not something I can do, having new seals. > There must be a way, which I’d like to know.
