> It sounds like you have a 3/8 pipe plug in there. If that's what happened, it may be the same fix that was done on my 2.1 Image: http://tinyurl.com/qdka3lh you can see a little of the sealant used by shop. I changed the oil, not knowing this brass plug had sealant on it. All I had was yellow gas tape. This seems to work for now. The mechanic that did the repair gave me a tube of the sealant they used. They said it was the stuff included in gasket sets. If I'm not mistaken, it's the stuff in the white tube shown here in Van-cafe.com head gasket set: http://www.van-cafe.com/shop/images/025198012B.jpg -- Neil n Blog: Vanagons, Westfalia, general <http://tubaneil.blogspot.ca> 1988 Westy Images <https://picasaweb.google.com/musomuso/New1988Westy> 1981 Westfalia "Jaco" Images, technical <http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/> Vanagon-Bus VAG Gas Engine Swap Group <http://tinyurl.com/khalbay> |
