Karl, yes the slave brace is supposed to be attached to the boss on the bell housing where the clutch release shaft comes out of the bell housing, should be a good tight fit. It should also be bolted to the top left boss on the bell housing. On later models a short flat brace was added from the slave brace to the side of the tranny.
