Subject:      Can an 82 foil be used in an 83 dash cluster?

Both are diesel. Ten years ago I bought a cluster cheap on ebay from an 82
to get a good plastic housing. It came with an excellent foil which I
removed and stored, so it's about like new. My 83 foil at 373,000 miles is,
well, getting by.

When the time comes, am I going to be able to replace the foil in my 83
with the 82 and expect things to work? It seems that the water temp warning
circuit changed, but I suspect there may be more. I would appreciate
hearing about any workarounds to potential problems, too.
