How does that account for the pump not working when you drove it with your home made tool, by hand? Due to the compression of a diesel, the rod bearings take one hell of a beating without oil pressure to cushion the shock. I seem to remember you saying you had started the engine several times, with no pressure. And I truly hope there is no damage, but for the sake of pulling a couple rod and cam caps.........
