Unfortunately this is par for the course with Overland/Eurospec. I've had several
instances of things done wrong in engines I sold for them, or parts missing on
kits I bought. One diesel engine they forgot to tighten the cam pulley completely
- this connection is a tapered shaft with no keyway - destroyed the head on a
brand new engine when the customer started it. Getting them to cover much other
than parts was always more difficult than the actual repair - so hopefully they
have learned from past mistakes and will cover your time and parts properly.
FWIW, there should be no heavy grease or sealant where you found some.
