I got an email back from Van Café and they suggest gently bending the opposing terminals inward and fitting the original connector on to the terminals. The third terminal is unused and sits behind the connector. I did a little extra and heated the plastic connector while wedging the contacts out, then let it setup while cooling. Done!

Best to retain a connector shell if you can, but mostly for when it's not plugged in. If you can find a shell that has the right configuration and takes Fast-on terminals you can transfer them over. Ask Van-Cafe what they do.

If necessary (and possible) just pull one terminal and zip-tie it to the other so it's plain they're meant to be together. The switch doesn't care which wire goes to which terminal.
