Patti,
        Ken Wilford(NJ) went through my AC system two summers ago and it is
still blowing cold. I still kinda giggle when my cheeks go numb. Below 40
mph is inconsistent. He cleaned up the wiring, gaskets, and replaced the
compressor and drier, among other things. I had to have a new hose built
with the old fittings from a CA ac shop. I couldn't find any local shops
capable. So, it can be done. I grew up in SoCal and I'll take your 100
degree dry heat over NJ's 90 with humidity any day.
