Sure, makes sense, but the whole darn body is a sounding board, including the glass and the fiberglass Westy top. That's a lot of dampening that needs to be applied. I'm personally not convinced that one can make much of a dent in the low-frequency roar of the road. A few fellows used their sound level meters to try to do before and after measurements but they used "A"-weighting which makes the meters far less sensitive to low-frequency sounds, so they weren't measuring the bulk of the noise; and I don't recall them driving the same stretch of road for the before and after.
