The noise is what I see as the common complaint of external pumps, diaphragm pumps. I'm guessing it has a lot to do on how the pump is mounted.

I'm keen on more pressure as I installed a eurovan faucet in the van many years ago ( back to the old '82 Westy days). This faucet is removable from the mounting base and I can pull it out of the window and hose myself down. But I want a bit more pressure.

I've looked at a couple of sailboat domestic water systems and I am tempted to copy what I saw. Including an accumulator and perhaps a filter.
