This discussion reminds me of my old 1968 Westy where the rear brake drums were cast with a splined hub, slipped over the stub axle, and tightened by this nut. What fun brake jobs were. I had to rent a 3/4" drive electric wrench, buy a socket, loosen the nut a turn or two, replace the cotter pin, and drive around the block in both directions to bust them loose. Dumb design.
