I used a sponge and an all-purpose cleaner. Sponge on, let a minute, wipe a bit, then wipe again with water for a rinse. Don't use Simple Green or any product with a strong odor - you'll regret it later. Remember to stroke the nap in one direction at the end (aesthetics count). I used a product only available from janitorial supply houses. It's called GP Forward, and is made by Diversey (used to be Johnson Wax. Very effective, pleasant smell, no allergic reaction - you can also use it around the house. Probably less than $20 for a quart of concentrate.
