Subject: Replaced driver's side front window seals. Report...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8

After testing my injectors, I spent most of the rest of the day replacing my driver's door window seals, including the wind-wing, with the non-chrome replacements. Boy, what a royal pain in the butt this was! I'll include some useful tips in a minute, but first, after I got everything back together, the wind wing wouldn't fit. It was as if the top of the window was rotate clockwise, from the outside, by about 3/8 of an inch. Needless to say, it won't close. I could use some help/ideas on this one.

Tips: 1) If you're replacing the wind wing seal, you may as well go ahead and take off the inner door panel and all that goes with it. 2) While you can't take the wind wing frame out, if you take out the one screw and one bolt that hold it in place, you can rotate it somewhat to better get the seal on. 3) You'll probably also want to remove the two bolts that hold the main window on the mechanism that lifts/lowers it. This will allow you to rotate the window somewhat and get the wind wing frame at a better angle to install the new seal. 4) As long as you've taken all this stuff out, this would be a good time to put in some sound dampening material, reseal the plastic that protects your speaker and your inner door panel, and, hey, go ahead and replace the speaker too.

Please help me figure out how get my wind wing to fit...

Thanks in advance, Marc Perdue
