Subject: Big Thanks and "Whew" (I hope)

Not long after I bought my '88 Westy, I got the WBX engine to at least run better. (idle issues mostly). At that time, I didn't see any coolant leaks, the power was "ok", so I thought I'd stick with that engine platform.

The recent coolant loss issue that cropped up was kind of a bummer. Many are familiar with that feeling. The worst part is that it appeared to be a coolant use issue. The good news is that I am about certain I found the leak; the rear heater valve O ring. Since removing the heater and capping the lines, I haven't seen the coolant level change in about 150 KM's.

So, a big thanks to the helpful folks on this list!

I think that leak issue fell into the 'insidious leak' types that (Jim Felder?) mentioned.

Hopefully I won't eat these words! ;)

Neil.
