This is the young man that bought my 82. You guys may remember various posts from me over the years about this van.. or not. I can vouch for the history of the van and can answer any questions about that. Sean, the new owner, has all the repair paperwork on the bus throughout its entire history and I will be glad to answer any other questions. Seems like a nice guy, if anyone out there can help him I'm sure he would get very grateful.

Why I made that suggestion. $3k won't get an engine replaced but if repairable will definitely cover that.

The van is located at a reputable garage. I don't know any other details beyond that. His repair budget was $3K. I assume the estimates for repairs exceeded that number.

New heads are even available. What is needed is some good diagnostics! Even on the air cooled engines I have changed a head with the engine in place.
