Denis, the correct torque is 360 ft. lbs. I do them all the time and set them to that spec. You have another problem. Even if the torque is correct does not mean that the bearing play is correct. It’s a fixed length situation. The bearing races, spacer and hub make up a fixed distance, if this distance is too small due to wear on any of the parts the nut will bottom out on the end of the splines and will get to be tight at 360 ft. lbs., BUT the wheel will still wobble as the bearings are loose as no pressure is being applied to the races. The length of the bearing inner races, the spacer and the hub MUST be the correct length for this to work as it was designed. Still, I don’t see how any looseness in there, unless it’s really loose, more than 1/4” movement of the wheel and hub, top to bottom, would cause an overheating situation.
