I'm just making a failed attempt at satire. I eat this stuff up and I can hardly wait until the weekend so I can replace the rear wheel bearings on both of the vans I maintain! Maybe I'll finish the other 20 things that need to be done first though.

Stuart

Stuart, what is wrong? Have you got a toothache? If you're not interested in a thread, don't read it! Things grow and things shrink. This list still serves the same needs it always has, and it would be a great shame to bend it out of shape in chasing a demographic. If Facebook serves the social part better, fine, that's why it's there. Pictures are neat, pictures are useful, and when there's a need for a picture we point to a picture, it's not as though it's hard to get a photo on the 'Net.

As of the last message I sent the list was being distributed to 398 members (i.e. that many were actually getting mail, not just subscribed). As a side note, it lost over half its circulation between 20 and 24 April of this year -- I suspect that those were dead subscriptions weeded out by the CONFIRM request that went out about that time. It has gained back since then, going from 355 receiving mail to 398.

Yours, David
