caveat: the tank I'm referring to may be a totally different make. When I had minor gas tank fit issues with my '81, I had wondered if the frame rails (my term) were out of spec. i.e. not parallel. Bentley Body section shows measurements. Could one determine the OEM distance between these rails via measurements shown in Body section? That said, I'd think a Vanagon would have to sustain really substantial body damage to whack those rails out of spec. The more likely issue I'd wondered about, was the *slightly* malformed lip at tank was rubbing and binding at area arrow points to here: http://tinyurl.com/p7dx9pf You can see where paint was scraped during install (and re-install).
