Patti, Most heat in parked vehicles is radiant - through the glass. Good chance insulating the top will retain more heat. Possibly?

A friend recently told me he had found that the most effective way to keep the interior less hot was to crack the windows and open the sunroof (we call it a vent) to allow the heat to naturally rise. Seems to work, though it's still hot in Phoenix.
