Go Westy has done the research for Westy's and come up with this: http://www.gowesty.com/ec_view_details.php?id=23672&category_id=&category_parent_id=

As usual, all it takes is money.

I'm very happy with the quite stiff Monroe Gas Magnum shocks on my '85 Westy that is also loaded to the gills on trips. They are about $150 for a full set including shipping. Do a search on www.rockauto.com for them. They are stiff, which is what I wanted.

Sorry list vendors, but I love you all many times over for other stuff! :-)

Stuart

Hi listers,

If the cupping wear on my front passenger outer side is most likely a tired shock then the next question is what shocks would be the best replacement for my particular van?

I have the extra tall 85 GL with heavy westfalia equipment. I’d like the most stable conditions in the wind and don’t mind a stiffer ride.

What shocks have the range needed for my tall van and firmness needed to help with wind pushing us around.
