in my experience people are Very Swayed by *Appearance* ... probalby because they don't know how to tell a mechanical sound car from a piece of junk. I have had people stop and turn around and walk off 50 feet from a decent car at a decent price .. because it had one dent in it. on the other hand ..I have seen this many times.. if it *looks* good , often they have just been driven into the ground. right...'good appearance' is actually a red flag, as least in the lower price ranges. new cheap tires are a dead giveaway for example. but I'm glad you sold your Jetta wagon ~! Even I was surprised at what a difference it made-it was suddenly a "sport wagon"! Within 12 hours of parking it in my front yard with a for sale sign on it, a guy stopped to look at it. His first comment was "Those wheels are really cool". He bought it for full asking price, and I believe the wheel covers made the sale, lol! Jeff > |
