(Simple pleasures!) My 2010 GPS didn't have lifetime maps. If I were to purchase lifetime maps now for my 2010 GPS, it would cost nearly as much as what I paid for this brand new GPS <http://www.buydig.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=GRNUVI2597LMT>. Besides its features (BT, receives voice commands, etc,) I like that the mini USB port is located behind the GPS, and the fact it can sit right on the dashboard, using the suction cup as a stand. I'd like to install an additional cigarette lighter plug hidden under the dashboard with the unit's mini USB cable accessible through the ashtray, so the charger and its wire (necessary for traffic info) would be hidden. The "hidden" cable would be stationary, but I would remove the GPS unit while parked and keep it out of sight. Are there any directions on where I would start? (I have modified and replaced parts in computers, but that's about the extent of my wiring skills.) Should I try to "go for it," or just take it to a shop?
