These engine normally operate at oil pressures up to 90 psi. The oil pressure relief is in the pump itself. Yu may have one that is stuck. Whenever major engine work is done start up should include an oil pressure gauge. To blow the filter you are reaching 300 to 400 psi or more. This can hydraulically lock bearings and break things including the pump shaft drive tab. Things can get nasty. Dennis

Now on warming up oil pressure peaks and blows out the big Mann oil filter, spewing out the oil. Something about oil pump check valve or bypass? Does anyone have direct experience with this issue?
