I had a great meetup with the Vangelenos <https://www.facebook.com/groups/725680570882543/permalink/773211782796088/>, who I found on FB. Some of them didn't know about this list, so I gave them the list's email address. It was great meeting with local Westy enthusiasts informally for a few hours. I saw lots of mods and upgrades today. I was most impressed with the versatility of solar panels. One of the members uses solar energy to run all of his electrical accessories including his portable fridge-freezer 24/7! He removed his city water hookup and replaced it with a connector to his solar panel. The panel is very lightweight and flexible, much to my surprise. Another member has a solar panel installed "stealth" in his luggage compartment! (He said it was very hard to find one that would fit perfectly.) Until today I didn't realize the convenience of solar panels. I thought they were bulky and heavy, and had very limited uses. Solar energy in my van is now on my wish list!
