I sometimes use a small plastic (Lexan, actually) scraper I made...just a scrap of Lexan with a bevel sanded onto the ends...I originally made it to do the frequent changes of decals and numbers on my racecar...but I've found lots of other uses for a durable sharp non-marring scraper...If it gets dull, a quick hit on the belt sander puts a good edge back on and it won't scratch the paint....Tree sap..we have Ponderosa pines...it takes off most of the blobs, but you're left with a chalky smuged-spot that you must still wash or wipe off ....dunno what it might do to wax...probably nothing much... I don't wax cars.
