Patti,

I have 2 types of plastic covers. The OEM space ship vanagon ones and aftermarket ones. I have never experience any premature dislodging with either. One word of caution if you do go the aftermarket route. Buy a set that is tall enough as you want the grease caps on the hubs to fit under the plastic wheel covers. If you buy some that are too shallow these will not fit the rim and accommodate the height of the grease caps.
