More or less the same situation here. More tools than the sense to use
them, when it comes to electricity. And I only have a couple of basic
voltmeters!
The light-to-audio thing is a good idea. But it would have to be very
sensitive. A roaring fridge flame would cause the indicator light to
produce the candlepower of, say, the Pleiades on a clear night.
