No need is different from won't help. Sometimes the propane, whether for stove or refrigerator, has not been used for a long time. Then one fills the tank, and attempts to start the refrigerator. It is difficult, maybe impossible to get it going. Light a stove burner and let it operate for a few minutes. Then start the refrigerator. It works. It would take a controlled experiment to determine if burning the stove for a bit in fact makes the refrigerator fire up more readily, but I believe that it does based on experience.
Mechanism? The stove does draw more propane. Often when I light the stove after a several week rest, it sputters at first, like there might be air in the lines. If the refrigerator is not drawing propane, it might be more difficult to get propane started given the smaller orifice and burner. But get it moving with the stove, then it will move to the refrigerator too.
Anyone else have any ideas?
