did you check the clutch hydraulic fluid level in the brake master
cylinder Resevoir ?
that would be the first step.
how much free play is there at the top of the clutch pedal travel ?
it should be around 1/8th to 1/4 inch ..
if it's say 3/4 inches..you are starting to get wear on a pivot point
that was last greased at the factory in 1982, some 32 yrs ago or
whatever that is.
it's a bare-metal to bare-metal pivot point ..very cheap design. ..and
slop wears there sometimes.
