Are you serious ? it's a standard control on the dash..

marked with an icon of some universal sort .. it''s in the owner's manual.

Vanagon drivers should know all the switches, features, and controls of the vanagons they drive.

( the heater controls are rather obtuser... so understandable there ) otherwise ...you know.

Aways remove and inspect all front and rear turn signal assemblies. the fronts in particular fill with water, get very bad corrosion at the socket ..

There is just no substituent ( should I put that in upper case...No Substituent ) ..... for LOOKING at parts in a system that are not working. Visually inspecting.

There is just no substituent ( should I put that in upper case...No Substituent ) ..... for LOOKING at parts in a system that are not working. Visually inspecting very carefully.

Most often the culprit is good ole corrosion .. or conorossion ( rust ) and neglect.

the front turn signal assemblies of Vanagons need to be removed and inspected maybe once a year.

For vans left out on the elements and not driven , remove the lens assemblies as some of them fill with water just sitting out, after a while.

Cossosion is the main enemy of vehicles that want to stay serviceable long term.

Besides ordinary wear...like engines eventually wearing out.. or head gaskets failing from never changing coolant .. or brake fluid, or trans oil etc. never or rarely being changed..etc. it's 'Corrosion:.

so very easily treatable and stopable too. I should write a little book/manual. Heck, it's fun and easy to do, and so rewarding.

just look at stuff, treat corrosion and lack of lubrication .. that can do a world of good.

where I am coming from is having seen hundreds of vanagons and vehicles that never get much detail attention in their lives...then they're thrown away .. all for lack of frequent detail attention of the simplistic variety really. Vesicles would last forever if really taken care of.

it's all good.

"take things apart and look at them. Look for things that do not look right. Correct as needed. "

LOL
