Hi Stuart and others,

My understanding from reading this list and some other notes over the past few years, is that the 1985 Vanagon came raised up higher then other vans. I don’t know if this is just certain models like the GL or all 1985 vanagon’s.

Mine is high both in the front and the rear. I think the van is supposed to sit level but often the back sags over time. there are even special shims available from Van Cafe for the rear that raise it up to make the van more level. I believe they live over the rear springs..

I’d love to hear more about the 85 hight from those more knowing then me.

It is challenging to get a short person in the van. And, it probably makes my van lean more when in motion.

I think there must be some differences in the stock vehicles as delivered by VW to Westfalia for conversion, since these are both stock vans. > > Stuart > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Jeff Palmer > Sent: Saturday, June 27, 2015 9:03 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: White 85 GL Auto brothers and sisters > > What is raised up?
