All this negativity about the Dometics....

I've had 4 different campers with Dometic fridges and a couple of Norcolds (12v/110v) I didn't use the 12v compressor fridges much, unless it was underway...when trying to camp with one of those, I found them noisy and hungry to run down the battery.... The Dometics? Mine have been good. They've been almost trouble free and they do preserve food and cool things down without a huge battery and all kinds of other complex systems to dink around with. The model I have now has one of the flow-meters, right on the face inside the door, making it easy to see if it is actually lit.......much better than that small 'sight-window' that some have. Mine have all worked quite well. Yes, they are small...but so are Vanagons.. I suppose I could 'stress' about how inefficient my Dometic is in my Vanagon but I'm satisfied with them...
