You're going to love this.

ETKA says 031 C for all years.

I have an 031A and an 031 F. Both Bilstein, both 1075 kG, same height. Both have a tubular arm with engagement limited to ~3-1/2 inches. The A is like the one from my '84 Westy -- stamped handle, metal shield over the gears. The F has a rod handle and a plastic shield over the gears; and its arm is perhaps an inch shorter overall but same engagement depth.

The jack from my '89 White Star is different. It's made by Storzz and its arm is a flat stamping overlaid with a taller-than-wide rectangular-ish tube with engagement depth about six inches. It has a wad of tinfoil over the gears because whatever cover Storzz supplied isn't there.

And the part number is, wait for it -- 031A. Slow clap for VWAG.
