I think we may be barking up the wrong tree, gentlemen.

031 A Bilstein, 9-1/2" arm length (but the gear cover overhangs in the front). 031 A Storrz, 9-1/4" arm length. 031 D Bilstein, 8-3/4 arm length.

But only the Storrz can pass its arm past three inches through the hole in the cladding. If the bottom of the hole is broken out, as it is on my right-front, they all three work.

Eric Caron has an '85 GL Westy, no cladding.
