If you're not going to be using the van for the entire day it's a losing battle BUT, if you shade the van and insulate it well and apply 3M Crystialine to the windows it will make a huge improvement in the heat issue. I used 70/30 light grey perf on my cabin windows because that does a great deal of benefit AND allows stealth urban camping. Removing the tint on the same cuts the heat some but allows much more interior light which is nice to see but hinders stealthing because you want it darker inside the van than it is outside.
