It's funny, but I notice that the German van owners favour the oil cooler rad at the front more than the North American van owners.

My plans are to puts a different engine in the van, but an oil cooler is transferable and I really have to get off my duff and put one in.

I'm not a fan of the scoops but I am a fan of a fan on the cooler rad. Not much air scooping effect when driving slow and steep, so I think the fan is a necessity.

The radiator fan will provide all the air needed especially when the AC is turned on. Using 5/8" copper line and AN 8 hoses there is no problem with pressure loss. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Dan N > Sent: Monday, July 6, 2015 8:57 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Trip and tire report > > you may want an oil cooler with fan.... > > and the air scoops like this.... > > http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=1267740
