Nice luck! That (black?) hard nylon line is something I'd thought would never wear out. But then it sounds like there were extenuating circumstances?

I usually carry a length of 5/16" Gates fuel injection pressure rated fuel hose. Usually... ;) In fits of desperation, I've even used that piece of hose to prime the Dometic combustion chamber via the drain tube.
