Iım no expert, but I know that the shoebox electronics installation requires messing with your ECU; if they gave you one of them, then perhaps they tried to install it and perhaps the person who did that didnıt put it back together properly/solder all the wires exactly.

I looked at the process of adding the shoebox thing and backed off when I saw that I had to get in there and mess with the ECU itself. It would be so nice if there were some sort of ³reader² that you could put inline (some sort of passthrough connector) without messing with the ECU itself. But thatıs probably asking way too much.

They also sell at kit that includes the ECU (meant for mechanics/shop owners) but at almost $1000 its a pricey thing for a home user just to monitor their engine.
