The iridium, platinum, etc. plugs last longer and will give a consistent spark over that lifetime, but nothing gives a better spark than the old school copper plugs.

I run the Beru 14-7CU plugs in all my engines. They are better quality than Bosch or NGK.

Cheers,

Jeff

The Boys at Techtonic's Tuning, a VW performance specialty supplier of great reputation, recommenced the Iridium Bosch plugs..Relatively expensive, compared to other options, but they've been in my motor for about 30k now and show little erosion....I keep expecting to replace those plugs on my VW inline/Vanagon....but they still look and perform perfectly, every time I pop one out....

When I get the ambition to replace the ones in my V-6 GM van, which I understand is a nasty, nasty, all day job (if you are lucky)....I'll use those again there, too....so I hopefully never have to do that odious chore again on that motor ...
