OK, I'm not sure, but... did you cut the wires into individual wires? Sounds like the designer of the kit doesn't want the headlight grounds served by double wires through a single terminal. There are better ways to do this, like relaying the lights and/or running grounds to the frame near the lights instead of all the way back to the star. You might ask BD directly, they are pretty good at helping with stuff like that.
