There may or may not be an economic argument for AAA/CAA membership. Here's another: Our chapter of CAA has its own fleet of trucks. I assume that's the case for other chapters across North America. Possibly they use private contractors. Here you will get a contractor in rural areas. Lots of private contractors in Winnipeg are sketchy. The industry has close links to biker clubs/gangs. Not sure if that's a Winnipeg thing or an industry thing but I like the fact that whether I'm in town or out of town that CAA/AAA vets the operators. Peace of mind whether I'm driving or my wife. I don't care for their travel agents, insurance or advocacy however.
